Behind Galaktlan is Taavi Laatsit, who’s been active
in Estonian electronic scene since 1997 and to date has released several
albums under different names. Being a big movie fan, he has also written
music for quite a few short films. Influenced by soviet TV series,
such as D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers and named
after the novel’s chick Constance Bonacieux, this album contains
10 solid electronic pieces that sound surprisingly fresh and innovative...

This single is coming out together with the new Galaktlan
album Constance. The main track Laanetaguse is the
outcome of Galaktlan’s studio session with another
respectable Kohvi artist Pastacas. The legend says
that by the time Galaktlan and Pastacas have finished
recording this piece, their computer has crashed and all the work
simply disappeared. A year later they decided to re-record the piece,
and it’s a good thing they did so! If you are familiar with
the material of both artists you can probably predict the result...

Fresh from Kohvi! Ramo Teder aka Pastacas is back
with a new album of singing, acoustic guitar and electronica. As with
his previous albums, Ramo plays live instruments in most tracks, but
here he is also concentrated on singing. Don’t be suspicious
of the singing part, as it is rather enjoyable and unusual. Pastacas
sings in Estonian, Finnish and his own made-up language (!). Tsaca
Tsap is quite folky, yet rather electronic and IDM-ish. The opening
Veel Viivuks is a gentle ballad, vocal parts are being constantly
added, accompanied by guitar and simple synth...

It is a great pleasure to offer you this amazing release. With so
much happening on electronic scene today, so many artists and releases,
you don’t hear wonderful music like this everyday. This EP must
be one of the best electronic releases of the last few years. Behind
this short and funky name is Paavo Eensalu, a guy from a small town
of Võru in Estonia. This is his debut solo release, although
he had been part of several Estonian electronic bands before ( Quite,
Borax). From the very first Rhodes chords of the opening Aim
03 there’s a nice feeling of expectation...

This is a split release of two Estonian artists Barbariz
and Pastacas. Barbariz is Eero Barndõk, animation
artist and painter, who stepped into the world of music by accident.
Open to experiments, he combines synthesizers and drums machines with
traditional instruments such as acoustic guitar or flute. Perhaps
that’s what brought him together with Ramo Teder (aka Pastacas)
who uses acoustic instruments and his own voice to produce most of
his tracks. Both artists may be similar in approach, but their sound
is quite different. Barbariz is very noisy, rough and “all
over the place”, while Pastacas...

This is one of the first releases of Estonian Kohvi Records,
consisting of a great selection of remixes for Any Day –
a wonderful track by a local band Bizarre. This track also
featured on the demo CD of Future Music magazine back in
1997. Ten remixes on one track may seem a bit too much, but unlike
other remix compilations, this one is highly enjoyable from start
to finish. Most of the tracks were made by Estonian producers, with
one guest contributor – DJ Drum from the neighbouring
Latvia. The opening version by Fijiama adds a new...
